This is the infamous Col de Turini, Monte Carlos, and one of the WRC’s, most famous stages. Hundreds of rally spectators turn out to watch this stage, as the cars go over the top of the col. It is a high mountain pass starting (or finishing if it is run in reverse) in the commune of Moulinet or Peira Cava . The Col de Turini rally stage is known for its highly variable conditions ranging from dry grippy asphalt at the bottom, through wet asphalt and ice up to packed snow at the top, it is also often run in the dark. Tyre choice is critical. Cars opting for asphalt tyres struggle in the snow at the top, especially with fans throwing more snow onto the stage.
