Rally Greece Stage Maps
The EKO Acropolis Rally Greece is back on the WRC Calendar 2023. The Greek rally is known for being tough on both the cars and crews due to the rough stages and high heat. The overview map below shows the rally is based mainly between Athens in the south and Lamia to the north. Lamia is the base of Acropolis Rally Greece 2023 with the service park and HQ hosted there. There is also a super special stage in the Olympic stadium in Athens.
Rally Greece 2023 Route
The route was published at the end of July for the 70th running of The Acropolis Rally Greece 2023.
After the ceremonial start at the foot of the Acropolis, the opening stage on Thursday is not being held in the Olympic stadium as it was in 2022 (where Andreas Mikleson, unfortunately, crashed on the first corner of the rally). Instead, this year it is held in Water Square, a waterside venue usually used for music concerts and festivals. There is tiered seating available here and entry is free, demand will be high though, expect the area to be very busy.
Getting to the rally
Athens airport is the largest international airport to access Rally Greece 2023 with many airlines running routes to and from the destination. A majority of the stages are held between Athens and Lamia 213km to the north.
Accomodation in Greece
Athens is a major tourist destination and as such there is a lot of accomodation for every budget.
Lamia, the event base for 2023, does not have a lot of accomodation and what there is, is booked up long in advance of the rally. The costal areas to the south of Lamia and on the west coast host some larger holiday hotels, while inland you will mainly find appartements with private hosts.
